Fellowes merges air purification and contract interiors businesses, unifying its portfolio around indoor environmental quality
In 2025, Fellowes merged its air purification and contract interiors businesses into a single division, using indoor environmental quality as the framework to advance integrated purification solutions and configurable furniture, emphasizing product synergy rather than selling individual products.
In 2025, Fellowes merged its previously separately operated air purification business with its contract interiors business, which includes ESI and Trendway, into the same division; previously, each business had its own product portfolio, customers and market perspective.
Pete Scheidler, general manager of Fellowes' interiors business, said the company re-examined how modular walls, office accessories and air quality management could work together, and the concept of indoor environmental quality thus became the integrating idea.
Scheidler said the business merger has already immediately affected the existing product portfolio and the way products are presented, and that developing holistic solutions that work together around indoor environmental quality is the current top priority.
In air purification, Fellowes is advancing integrated purification solutions designed to integrate more fully into building air handling systems; in furniture, it emphasizes configurability and customization, giving customers more flexibility while maintaining fast delivery capability.
Scheidler said Fellowes is developing solutions that balance indoor pollutant control with energy consumption and operating costs, helping building owners strike a balance between environmental quality and energy consumption.
Fellowes has an in-house industrial design team and works with internal design support teams and the broader design community to understand product needs in terms of appearance, function and how they work together.
