HON has announced Scribble, a new student chair for K-12 classrooms that combines a flexible polypropylene shell with a tactile path integrated under the seat, positioned as a seating solution that supports student movement and focus.

According to HON, students and educators evaluated the designs by touch alone, without seeing them, and the most consistent feedback centered on 1 continuous loop line that can be traced from start to finish.

The chair features a contoured seat and an 11.5-degree flex back. HON says it adapts to different body types and sitting postures, including upright sitting, leaning forward and reclining, making it easy for students to move quietly while staying engaged.

HON states that Scribble holds a Health Product Declaration (HPD), BIFMA LEVEL 2 certification, Indoor Advantage Gold certification and a Children's Product Certificate. At the time of procurement, the entity, version and validity period of the documents and certificates should be verified against the specific model.

Regarding cleaning and maintenance, HON explains that the chair back surface is smooth and easy to clean, and that the tactile path contains no 90-degree right angles, reducing dirt accumulation in grooves. The actual cleaning method should still be confirmed with the maintenance documentation.

Scribble is available with 6 base options: four-leg, bar stool, café stool, cantilever, task chair and task stool, along with 16 polymer shell colors and 19 powder-coated base options, which can be used for zoning classroom layouts and wayfinding.

The original text states that Scribble will be exhibited at the HON booth during the EDspaces trade show in Kansas City, Missouri, which runs from October 28 to 30. The original text does not specify the year, so it cannot be determined whether this show period has passed, is currently underway or is yet to come, nor can it be concluded that the event has already taken place.
